Discover central Tuscany's most stunning towns and villages on this 6-day art and history journey. Accompanied by your expert guide, you'll discover the treasures in Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Florence. The trip is designed to lead you through the stages of Italian history, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and beyond, so that you can fully appreciate each masterpiece of art or architecture within its larger context. Your guide, a professional art historian, will provide historical context at every step of the way, weaving each site into the narrative of the evolution of Tuscan history and art.

Meet Your Guide

Sandra Laville

I believe that travel is one of the most meaningful experiences life has to offer.

My biggest passion is bringing history to life and weaving it into the stories about the people and places behind it. As a licensed guide, I've spent over 20 years passionately guiding travelers through Europe's cultural treasures in Florence, Rome, Paris and beyond. My academic training includes a Master's in Education, and a Master's in Art History from La Sorbonne University in Paris, where I specialised in Italian Renaissance painting. I lived in Italy like a local for over 15 years, and have a deep understanding of Italian culture, past and present.

Florence and Tuscany have a very special place in my heart. My goal on this journey is for you to be transported back in time and truly experience Italy's most beautiful art treasures - up close and personal.

I can't wait to welcome you and peel back all the layers of history and art, as your personal guide.

The Location

We'll spend the first 4 nights at a luxury hotel in the Tuscan countryside, while we explore the neighbouring villages and towns. This will be followed by 2 days in Florence, including a 1-night stay at a boutique hotel in the historic centre.
